About Geekin

Managed IT, run by people who answer the phone.

Geekin is a managed service provider for growing businesses across Canada and the United States. We're a small, direct team, not a franchise or a reseller chain — which means the person scoping your problem is usually the same person who fixes it.

Never idle.

The cursor is the point

Our logo isn't a mark we picked because it looked clean on a business card. The blinking block after the wordmark is a cursor — the one honest signal of a technician who's mid-task, screen open, ready for the next keystroke. It never stops blinking because that's the actual job: the work doesn't pause just because nothing's on fire right now.

That's what "Never idle." means in practice. Monitoring runs continuously in the background. The people reading what it finds work your business hours, and when the cursor on our own dashboards flips from saffron to red, that's the signal something needs a human — not a vague promise of "24/7 everything" with no specifics behind it.

Where we stand

What Geekin is — and isn't

We are

  • A direct line to the people doing the work — not a ticket that disappears into a tiered queue.

  • Built around documentation — what we touch gets written down, so the next ticket starts from a known state.

  • Honest about what you actually need — including when the answer is "nothing, what you have is fine."

  • Working across Canada and the United States — one provider for teams on either side of the border, or both.

  • Small on purpose — a size where you can still get the owner of a problem on the phone, not a ticket router.

We aren't

  • A reseller whose advice happens to point at whatever has the best margin this quarter.

  • A call center reading from a script, with no idea what you called about last time.

  • Going to promise "24/7, everything, guaranteed" without telling you exactly what that covers.

  • Interested in a long contract you can't get a straight answer about — we'd rather earn the renewal.

  • Going to touch your client-facing infrastructure for anything other than the work you've asked for — monitoring our own tools is our business, not a backdoor into yours.

What we actually do

Six categories, nothing invented

Day to day, Geekin covers the things an in-house IT department would otherwise be doing alone:

  • Helpdesk & ticketing
  • Infrastructure management
  • Security
  • Cloud & backup
  • Onboarding & projects
  • Advice, plainly given

How we work

The habits behind "Never idle."

A philosophy is only real if it shows up in the day-to-day. These are the habits we hold ourselves to.

01

We answer the phone

A ticket is the start of a conversation, not a form disappearing into a queue.

02

We document what we touch

So the next ticket — from us or anyone else — starts from a known state, not a guess.

03

We patch on a schedule

Maintenance windows, not panic windows — planned, communicated, and boring on purpose.

04

We tell you the boring truth

A straight answer about what you need, instead of the exciting upsell.

05

We scope before we sell

We'd rather spend an hour understanding your setup than guess and send a quote that doesn't fit it.

06

We stay in our lane

Our monitoring watches our own internal systems — never client infrastructure — unless you've asked us to watch yours.

Why a smaller provider

You get the people, not the org chart

We're not going to invent a founding story or a headcount that sounds more impressive than the truth. What we can tell you honestly is what working with a smaller, direct MSP actually gets you: fewer hand-offs between you and whoever is solving your problem, decisions that don't need three layers of approval, and a team that's small enough to still know your environment by name instead of by ticket number. That's the trade-off we're making, and it's the one we think is worth it.

Tell us what's broken, slow, or just quietly worrying you. We'll give you a straight answer.
